The History of Monroe Village

Deeds define our exceptional senior living in Monroe Township, NJ — more than words ever could.

The best way to understand our community’s mission? Think back to when Hurricane Irene struck New Jersey. The niece of a Monroe Village prospect called her Senior Living Sales Counselor. Her aunt was stranded without power. Could we help? Our Counselor went to her home, helped her pack and brought her back to our community. He settled her in and introduced her to friends who helped her feel comfortable. After the storm ended and power returned to the area, our Counselor drove the aunt home, helped her unpack and even made sure her medication dispenser was working properly.

She’s a Monroe Village resident today. Is that any surprise? She had a first-hand preview of the way our staff and our community see their calling.

It began in 1988 when a group of physicians built Monroe Village to provide both stylish living and healthcare security on one campus. Since then, our community has grown and flourished. You’ll take comfort in our financial strength and stability, backed by the resources of Springpoint Senior Living, a leading nonprofit provider of continuing care retirement communities. The resources of a large organization stand behind Monroe Village. You’ll be reassured by Springpoint’s strong financial rating and emphasis on quality. Springpoint offers oversight and resident satisfaction levels that a stand-alone community just can’t match.

Like all Springpoint communities, we’re CARF accredited: we must meet and exceed rigorous standards, year after year. Independent experts analyze every facet of operations, from financial operations to food service to healthcare — more than 1,000 different criteria. Only 15% of all CCRCs in America achieve this distinction.
